Details and Guidelines for Manuscript Submission

Please pay attention to the guidelines below when preparing a manuscript for TIK Ilmeu. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the author for correction before entering or continuing the editorial process. You can download manuscript format in this link.

Number of Words Required

Please ensure that the manuscript follows the required word count.

• 5,000–8,000 words for Research Articles, including the main text, tables, figures, and references.
• Literature Review articles may exceed this range when additional length is necessary for a rigorous and comprehensive synthesis.

All texts must:

• Be submitted as a Microsoft Word (.docx) file.
• Be written in English.
• Use clear, coherent, and professional academic language.
• Use an objective scholarly style and avoid unnecessary first-person expressions.
• Follow the TIK Ilmeu manuscript template and these Author Guidelines.

1. Originality of the Manuscript. Only original manuscripts will be considered for publication. The manuscript must not have been previously published and must not be simultaneously submitted or under consideration by another journal. Authors must disclose any substantial overlap with their previous publications.
2. Article Types. TIK Ilmeu accepts Research Articles and Literature Review articles. Research Articles may use quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, survey, case study, bibliometric, or other appropriate research approaches. Literature Reviews should provide a critical and systematic synthesis of relevant scholarship and may use systematic review, scoping review, bibliometric review, or systematic mapping approaches.
3. Manuscript Format. The manuscript should use A4 paper, Times New Roman 11 pt for the main text, 1.15 line spacing, justified alignment, and margins of 3 cm (top), 3 cm (bottom), 3 cm (left), and 2.5 cm (right). The article title should use Arial 14 pt, bold, left aligned, and contain no more than 18 words.
4. Title and Author Information. The title should be concise, specific, informative, and representative of the study. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and overly broad wording. Provide the full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, city and country, corresponding author's email address, and ORCID iD where available. The author order should reflect actual contribution to the work.
5. Abstract. The abstract must be written in English and contain no more than 250 words. It should concisely present: Background, Objective, Methods, Findings, and Originality. The abstract should summarize the study rather than provide a general introduction to the topic.
6. Keywords. Provide 3–5 specific keywords representing the central concepts of the manuscript. Use semicolons to separate keywords. Authors are encouraged to use terminology commonly recognized in Library and Information Science.
7. Manuscript Organization. Manuscripts should generally be organized as follows: Introduction; Literature Review/Theoretical Framework; Method; Results/Findings; Discussion; Conclusion; and References. Headings and subheadings should not be numbered. The exact organization may be adapted to the research design, provided that the manuscript remains clear and logically structured.
8. Introduction and Literature Review. The Introduction should build a clear research argument from the research problem and context to the research objective and/or research questions. The Literature Review should critically synthesize relevant and recent scholarship, establish the theoretical or conceptual foundation, identify unresolved issues or research gaps, and explain how the present study contributes to existing knowledge. Do not present previous studies merely as a list of summaries.
9. Method. The Method section must clearly describe the research approach and design, population/participants or data sources, inclusion and exclusion criteria where applicable, sampling or selection procedures, sample size, research setting, period of data collection, instruments or protocols, data-collection procedures, and analytical procedures. Quantitative studies should report relevant statistical procedures and diagnostics; qualitative studies should explain coding, categorization, theme development, and analytical procedures; mixed-methods studies should explain how quantitative and qualitative components were connected, merged, compared, or integrated.
10. Ethical Considerations. Research involving human participants should report relevant ethical considerations, including ethical approval where applicable, informed consent, confidentiality, data protection, anonymization, and other safeguards. If ethical approval was not required, authors should explain the reason where appropriate.
11. Results, Figures, Tables, and Equations. The Results/Findings section should present the evidence generated by the study clearly and systematically. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and referred to in the text. Table titles should appear above the table, while figure captions should appear below the figure. Sources should be provided where applicable. Equations should be clearly formatted and numbered consecutively when necessary.
12. Discussion and Conclusion. The Discussion should interpret the findings rather than merely repeat them. Authors should relate findings to relevant theories, previous studies, research gaps, and the contribution of the study. Discuss theoretical and/or practical implications, contextual factors, limitations, alternative explanations, or contradictions where relevant. The Conclusion should directly answer the research objectives/questions, summarize the principal contribution and implications, and should not introduce new evidence.
13. Citation and References. TIK Ilmeu uses APA 7th edition for in-text citations and references. Authors are strongly encouraged to prioritize recent, relevant, peer-reviewed scholarly sources and primary research. Seminal theoretical works may be included where appropriate. All cited sources must appear in the reference list, and all listed references must be cited in the manuscript. DOI information should be included where available. Authors are encouraged to use Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or an equivalent reference manager.
14. Plagiarism and Similarity. All manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism or similarity-detection software. Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others, use quotation marks for direct quotations, and ensure that ideas and evidence taken from external sources are appropriately cited. Manuscripts containing plagiarism or unacceptable textual duplication may be rejected or returned for correction.
15. Use of Artificial Intelligence. Authors may use generative AI or other AI-assisted tools for appropriate purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, translation assistance, brainstorming, or technical assistance. AI tools must not be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, interpretation, research integrity, and final content of the manuscript. Substantial use of AI in manuscript preparation should be disclosed in accordance with the journal's publication-ethics policy.
16. Research Data and Transparency. Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to provide sufficient information to support research transparency and reproducibility. Authors may be asked to provide research instruments, datasets, coding frameworks, analytical procedures, or other supporting materials, subject to ethical, privacy, copyright, and confidentiality considerations.
17. Copy Editing and Proofreading. Authors must carefully copy-edit and proofread the manuscript before submission. The manuscript should be checked for English language quality, grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, tables, figures, citations, and references. Submission indicates that the manuscript has been prepared in a publication-ready form.
18. Copyright and Author Agreement. Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights and permissions for third-party material used in the manuscript. During the publication process, authors may be required to complete the journal's applicable copyright, licensing, and author agreement documents.
19. Submission through OJS. All manuscripts MUST be submitted through the TIK Ilmeu Online Journal System (OJS). Manuscripts submitted by email or other channels will not be considered for publication unless the editorial office explicitly requests otherwise.

Note: The manuscript template and formatting guidelines are intended to standardize manuscript submission. The final layout, typography, and design of the published article are determined by the editorial and production team of TIK Ilmeu.
