Corrections and Retractions

Tik Ilmeu: Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. Corrections and retractions are handled in accordance with established publication ethics and best practices in scholarly publishing.

Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article that does not invalidate the main findings, conclusions, or overall integrity of the work. Corrections may include factual, typographical, author information, affiliation, citation, or other errors that require amendment.

When a correction is necessary, the journal will publish a correction notice that clearly identifies the affected article and describes the changes made. The original article will remain available, with an appropriate notice linking it to the correction.

Retractions

A published article may be retracted when there is substantial evidence that its findings or publication record are unreliable or when serious ethical or integrity concerns are identified. Reasons for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  • substantial errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions;

  • fabrication or falsification of research data;

  • plagiarism or significant duplication of previously published work;

  • unethical research practices;

  • serious authorship or conflict-of-interest issues that affect the validity of the publication; or

  • other circumstances that substantially compromise the integrity of the scholarly record.

A retraction decision will be made by the editorial team after appropriate investigation and, where necessary, consultation with the authors, reviewers, editorial board members, or relevant institutions.

When an article is retracted, the article will remain accessible for the purposes of maintaining the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as “Retracted.” A retraction notice will explain the reason for the retraction and will be linked to the original article.

Editorial Responsibility

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team are responsible for assessing reported concerns and determining the appropriate action. Authors, readers, reviewers, and other stakeholders may report potential errors or research integrity concerns to the journal.

The journal will handle all correction and retraction cases objectively, transparently, and consistently, while respecting due process and the rights of all parties involved.
