Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

TIK Ilmeu permits the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools in research and manuscript preparation, subject to the following principles:

1. AI tools may be used for language editing, translation, brainstorming, coding, data analysis, and other appropriate research or editorial assistance.
2. AI cannot be listed as an author. Human authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and final content of the manuscript.
3. AI use must be disclosed when it has substantially contributed to manuscript preparation, research, data analysis, or the creation/modification of figures.
4. Authors must verify AI-generated content, including facts, interpretations, citations, references, and research results. Fabricated or unverifiable information is not acceptable.
5. Confidential information must be protected. Authors, reviewers, and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts, unpublished data, personal information, or other protected materials to AI systems where confidentiality cannot be assured.
6. Reviewers and editors remain responsible for their judgments. AI tools must not replace independent editorial or peer-review decisions.

Failure to disclose substantive AI use or misuse of AI may constitute a breach of the journal's publication ethics policy.
