Author Guidelines

1. General Information

Al-Falah: Journal of Islamic Economics is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, and conceptual papers in the field of Islamic economics, finance, and related disciplines. The journal welcomes contributions from scholars, practitioners, and researchers worldwide.

2. Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal's submission system.

  • The manuscript must not have been previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • Submissions must adhere to the journal’s scope and ethical guidelines.

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1 Format and Structure

  • The manuscript should be written in English or Indonesian.

  • Use Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) with Times New Roman, 12-point font, and 1.5 line spacing.

  • Page margins should be 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

3.2 Manuscript Components

A manuscript should generally include the following sections:

  1. Title Page: Title (concise and informative), author names, affiliations, and corresponding author details.

  2. Abstract: A concise summary (150–250 words) highlighting the purpose, methodology, findings, and implications.

  3. Keywords: 4-6 relevant keywords.

  4. Introduction: Background, research problem, objectives, and significance.

  5. Literature Review: Theoretical and empirical foundations.

  6. Methodology: Research design, data collection, and analytical methods.

  7. Results and Discussion: Presentation of findings with relevant discussions.

  8. Conclusion: Summary of findings, contributions, limitations, and recommendations.

  9. References: Cited sources using the Chicago (Footnote) referencing style.

4. Citation and References

  • Use Chicago (Footnote) style for citations.

  • Footnotes should be placed at the bottom of the page where references occur.

  • References should be arranged in a separate section titled Bibliography at the end of the manuscript.

  • Use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero for proper citation formatting.

5. Plagiarism Policy

  • All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software.

  • The manuscript must not exceed 20% similarity (excluding references and direct quotations).

  • Any manuscript failing this requirement will be rejected or returned for revision.

6. Peer Review Process

  • All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • The review process typically takes 4-6 weeks.

  • Authors will receive reviewer feedback for revision (if required).

7. Ethical Considerations

  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.

  • Research involving human subjects must follow ethical guidelines and provide necessary approvals.

  • Proper acknowledgment of funding sources and contributors is required.

8. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • There are no submission fees.

  • If accepted, authors may be required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover publishing costs (if applicable).

9. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright but grant the journal the right to first publication.

  • The journal follows an open-access policy under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license.
