AJIS: Academic Journal of Islamic Studies

The AJIS (Academic Journal of Islamic Studies) invites scholars, researchers, and academics to submit original research articles for the upcoming issue, Vol. 10, No. 1, 2025. This issue aims to explore contemporary and classical issues in Islamic studies, with a particular focus on the intersections of Islamic thought, society, and modern challenges.

Themes and Topics
We welcome submissions in the following areas, but not limited to:

  1. Islamic Theology and Philosophy

    • Classical Islamic philosophy in modern contexts
    • Interfaith dialogue and its impact on Islamic thought
    • Theories of knowledge in Islam

  2. Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh)

    • Contemporary challenges to Islamic law
    • Islamic law in multicultural societies
    • The role of Islamic jurisprudence in social justice

  3. Islamic Social Sciences

    • Islamic ethics in the 21st century
    • Social and political movements within Islamic societies
    • The role of women in modern Islamic societies

  4. Islamic History and Civilization

    • Impact of Islamic civilization on global history
    • The role of Islam in shaping modern political ideologies
    • Islamic contributions to science and technology in the medieval era

  5. Islamic Education and Pedagogy

    • Reforms in Islamic educational institutions
    • Islamic perspectives on modern education systems
    • The role of Islamic studies in contemporary universities

  6. Islamic Economics and Finance

    • Islamic finance models and their global impact
    • Socio-economic challenges in Islamic societies
    • Zakat, waqf, and their role in sustainable development

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished work and not under review elsewhere.
  • Submissions should follow the AJIS formatting guidelines, which can be found on the journal's website.
  • Manuscripts should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including references and footnotes.
  • All submissions will undergo a peer review process.
  • Authors are encouraged to submit their work electronically via the submission platform.
