Tinjauan Filosofis Pragmatisme Jhon Dewey Terhadap Persoalan Prokrastinasi Mahasiswa

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prokrastinasi mahasiswa dari perspektif filsafat pragmatisme yang diusung oleh John Dewey. Pragmatisme menekankan pentingnya pengalaman nyata dan dampak praktis dari tindakan individu, yang mencakup bagaimana mahasiswa memaknai dan menghadapi tugas-tugas akademik mereka. Dalam pendekatan ini, prokrastinasi dipahami sebagai respons terhadap persepsi tentang relevansi dan manfaat praktis tugas-tugas tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan pragmatisme untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana prokrastinasi dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman dan persepsi individu. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi literatur (library research) dan observasi mendalam terhadap mahasiswa, yang memungkinkan peneliti memahami pola pikir dan respons emosional mereka terhadap tugas akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prokrastinasi terkait erat dengan persepsi mahasiswa tentang relevansi tugas dan pengalaman sebelumnya. Dengan pendekatan pragmatisme, pengalaman nyata dan refleksi diri dipandang sebagai cara untuk mengubah pola pikir mahasiswa, membantu mereka melihat tugas sebagai peluang untuk berkembang. Penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa dengan memberikan makna praktis pada tugas-tugas akademik, mahasiswa dapat mengurangi kebiasaan menunda.
